Tara Gitter
Tara Gitter serves as Vice President, Community and Government Engagement at London House. Prior to joining London House, Tara was Chief of Staff to Assembly Member Amanda Septimo, serving the South Bronx. With a special focus on housing, environment, and economic development, she oversaw efforts to coordinate a MOU between the City and State to streamline MWBE certification processes, environmental legislation, and major infrastructure improvements.
Tara helped shepherd a $300 Million city-state-federal partnership to the nation’s largest food distribution hub, and pilot projects to aid modernization efforts in the city’s markets. Her organizing and advocacy work aided in the creation of the Parks and Open Space Partners (POSP), born as a response to the need for concerted advocacy efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has aided many nonprofits in securing public funding and navigating city and state processes.
Tara’s previous roles include Government Affairs Manager for the New York Restoration Project, Director of Community Outreach for U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer, and political campaigns, local to federal.
Tara earned her BA in Political Science from Binghamton University at the State University of New York, and a Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College at the City University of New York.
